Climb.

So.
As we're walking around Monday night....
"Ah...the Cannon Center."-Me.
"We should climb it Thursday night." -Ross.
*For those of you that don't know...the Cannon Center is our cafeteria. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All day, every day.

So we did. :]
And it was so much fun.
Midterms have been cramping my style.
My scores...just on the multiple choice...have been...92, 83, 92, and 75 percent.
I'm so awesome.
And i've still got Book of Mormon to go.
But ew. Scores.
Just wait until my essay questions get added in.
Anyways.
So we climbed.
Stupid kids and University police kept getting in our way.
But we eventually made it.
*We're all ducking from cops. In case you can't tell.
And it was cold.
But we did it.
Broke some Honor Code and were rebellious.
Yes.
At BYU.
And then we scaled some pillars.
Wow.
It was awesome.
I wish I could describe it to you.

*This is Ross, by the way.
I love these people.
The Hardcore 5.
And I can't wait for our next adventure. :]

Midterm.

BLEHHHHHHHHH.
I HATE midterms.
They are horrible.
They all come at once.
And they make you anti-social.
To.
The.
Maximum.
I hate it.
Every teacher thinks their class is the only class you have all day....
WRONGO!
ah.
It sucks.
All I do is study, eat, occasionally hang out with people....and then study more.
It is TERRIBLE.
And boring.
I get so lonely. :[

Occasionally, we can make studying fun.
And study in groups.
Like Book of Mormon.
Yes.
I do have to take a test on the Book of Mormon.
It's the hardest subject to study for.
Trust me.
But.
A group of about 15 of us studied at the Cannon Center.
For....
THREE AND A HALF HOURS!
Holy.
It was forever.
I better get an A.
Anyways....
Afterwards, we hit up Del Taco.
At midnight.
8 of us.
One Jeep.
One stupid cop.
One awesome adventure.
And that makes studying better.
Kind of fun.

Don't worry. Alex wasn't drunk. Just caught off guard. ;]

But just you wait until my next Midterm adventure on Thursday....;]

Y.

In order to become a true freshman here at BYU....
You must hike the Y.
Well. Kind of.
Sounds simple, right?
WRONG.
I hiked the Y Monday night.
With my good friends Kristine and Liz.
Oh yeah.
And these fools named Dan and Mark.
They're awesome.
I love them.
Anywho...
After FHE, we drove up to the Y.
Thank heavens for Liz's car.
It's clear the crap out there.
And so we started to hike.
Straight up.
I consider myself pretty active.
But.
I was DYING.
Between the hike itself and Danny and Mark making me laugh.
I couldn't take it.
But.
We persevered.
And made it.
It was such a beautiful view.
The Valley is gorgeous.
It was so much fun.
And now we're accomplished. ;]
Before the hike....

And after. :]

Sing.

I have never really been a fan of singing...
but BYU is changing my mind.
My first week here I went Tunnel Singing...
It's where a bunch of people gather together in the Marriott Center tunnel...
And we sing hymns for an hour.
Every Sunday night from 10-11 PM.
I originally went just because my friends were going.
But.
I love it.
The Spirit is so strong.
You can feel it in every song.
I don't do much singing there.
I just like to listen to everyone's pretty voices.
The people that I go with can all sing beautifully.
So I just sit.
And admire. :]
And occasionally chime in.
So I went again this week.
And I was not disappointed.
We had so much fun.
And the Spirit was so strong.
Again.
So.
It's becoming a weekly activity here for us.
And of course, we have to take our weekly picture. ;]
Week 1....
And Week 2. :]
As you can see, our group is growing.
We'll definitely be getting more pictures.
Every week.
Oh.
And speaking of singing...
I was inspired by tunnel singing to join ward choir.
Who knew?
We'll see how this goes.
More adventures to come....

Theme.

Dearest children, God is near you,
Watching o'er you day and night,
And delights to own and bless you,
If you strive to do what's right.
He will bless you, He will bless you,
If you put your trust in him.

Dearest children, holy angels
Watch your actions night and day,
And they keep a faithful record
Of the good and bad you say.
 Cherish virtue! Cherish virtue!
God will bless the pure in heart.

Children, God delights to teach you
By his Holy Spirit's voice.
Quickly heed its holy promptings.
Day by day you'll then rejoice.

This is now my theme song.
I love this.
It brings me such peace.
Call me a BYU nerd or something.
But I love it here.
And I love these girls. :]

Football.

I don't know about you...
But I grew up on football.
Seriously.
My father always had a game on during football season.
Football is like another part of me.

Today, I experienced my first football game as a college student.
It was so much fun.
The game was intense.
SO intense.
I loved it. :]
We ran into some good old STG friends....
And then we sat to watch the game in the blistering heat.
However.
As hot as it was,
And for how tired I was,
Meant nothing to watching my team onto victory. :]
All in all....BYU is just awesome. :]

Learned.

I have been at college one week.
And I've learned a few thing so far.

-You walk everywhere up here.
- Everyone has a connection to somebody up here. And you can make any connection you can think of. Like kids who have your Grandpa as a patriarch. In Connecticut.
- PDA = OVERLOAD. holy moly.
- Freshman 15...yeah it's real. But not for me. I'm too busy. I've lost 3 pounds. :]
- Tennis Class: Best Class Ever. :]
- Going to bed later than 1 every night catches up to you. and then you're just permanently tired. So no worries. You get over it soon.
- If you love your classes, chances are you should major in that.
- Don't worry about who your friends are. You meet a new person every second.
- College reading assignments take 1 hour longer than high school reading assignments. If you're lucky.
- I thought I knew the Book of Mormon well. I was so wrong.
- You do miss home. Especially your bed. And your own bathroom. And your mom.
- Homework is important. You actually have to do it. And professors don't care if you sluff. They just plow away at their job.
- Growing up sucks. Jobs now become important to us.
- College is the first time that people don't have curfews. People freak out. And stay out until 4 every night.
No worries.
College life is the best.
I am thoroughly enjoying myself.
And the first FOOTBALL GAME is on SATURDAY.
woot!

Also.
I went to John Mayer.
With Brad.
No one understands John like we do.
Or freaks out when he plays his classics.
It seriously was one of the best nights of my life.
So Brad.
Thank you. :]
