SO.
For English 218-R (aka Creative Writing),
We have to write a letter to a character.
Someone we connect with.
And why.
For mine, I chose the character of Daphne Reynolds,
From the movie What a Girl Wants.
Remember that movie from 5th grade girls?
Here we go.
Dear Daphne:
I'm glad you were created. You see, I really can connect to you. You have such a passion for life and living it to the fullest. I'm the same way. My friends and I made up a motto last year that we still abide by to this day: "You only live once." And I think you can apply that motto in your life. You make sure you do as much as you can in a day. And you are sure that at the end of the day, you are still smiling and enjoying every second.
Daphne, you also aren't afraid to dream big. You have goals and ambitions, and you're not going to let anyone stand in your way of achieving them. Impossible isn't a word in your vocabulary. So many people have an idea of what you should be, but you make sure that you are becoming who YOU want to become. You tend to be pretty positive about life, although you could stand to work on your outlook on yourself, that's okay. You're a little awkward now, but you have learned to laugh it off and hope one day you'll outgrow it. You know that one day you'll get there and eventually you'll be confident with yourself. You also know that one day, you'll settle down from your crazy passions and dreams and start a family. But life's too short to not experience it now.
Also, you love London. Your passion for the city is amazing and you know you're having the experience of a lifetime. You are just taking in the city and it's amazing sights and sounds. You're lucky; you get to claim London as a part of who you are. I'm pretty jealous about that. But hey, like you've shown, that can become part of your life. All you have to do is swoon a smokin' hot British man off of his feet, and you're set for life.
Daphne, thanks for being there for all the girls like me: ambitious, excited, and full of dreams. Keep on rollin' out those DVD's. I'll be seeing you the next time I need some inspiration. And some Oliver Jones.
Love,
..chelle..
